Sketch the Edmonds Classic Car Show! David will discuss equipment and supplies he uses to produce sketches and drawings of Cars or anything else that is mechanical and fascinating!

Emphasis on composition and layout so that the drawing is dynamic and interesting. Afterwards we’ll head out to draw cars at one of the PNW’s premier Car Shows. David will also bring some of his sketchbooks as examples for you to reference.

9:30am Workshop starts at ARTspot. David will give a short overview before your group heads out to sketch by 11am! Workshop outdoor location will be within walking distance of ARTspot. Exact location TBD. David will select where we draw based on weather, etc.

Students receive a 10% discount on ARTspot purchases from the day of registration to workshop end of day.

Excludes clearance items and other workshops. Cannot be combined with other discounts.

David Hingtgen is a Graphic Designer and Industrial Designer and has been working for 40 years here in Seattle using drawing daily. His interest in drawing became more focused after joining the Seattle Urban Sketchers 15 years ago.

Be sure to ask for your workshop student discount at ARTspot!

  • Toned Tan sketchbook (Mixed Media such as Strathmore or Stillman & Birn)

  • Ballpoint pen (such as Uniball vision)

  • Water brush

  • Lyra water soluble crayon

  • Gouache or colored pencils (mixing palette or at least red, grey & white for headlight/taillight details)

  • White gel pen (Uniball)

  • White colored pencil
