Class Description

Draw and paint local vernacular architecture on location in Edmonds! Eleanor will lead students through the process of drawing a charming house, which will give students the tools to draw any style of building. We'll learn strategies for understanding perspective intuitively, how to simplify overwhelming details, and finishing a sketch using watercolor in a harmonious limited palette.

We will walk a few blocks away from ARTspot and draw on location from the sidewalk. If it's rainy, we will draw from reference imagery inside of the space.

This workshop is most suitable for students who are already comfortable with urban sketching and have learned drawing fundamentals.

Workshop starts at ARTspot at 4pm. Eleanor will give a short overview before your group heads out to sketch! Workshop outdoor location will be within walking distance of ARTspot. Exact location TBD. Eleanor will select where we draw based on Sunday’s weather, etc.
