the No Talent Art Club

All art is Good Art! There is no Bad Art

Come express your creativity and hang out with other un-talented folks.

Free to attend!

Pencils and paper available for all, rent access to our art supplies, or bring your own materials to use or share!

Every Friday 6pm-8pm

All are welcome.

  • We’re hosting a maker’s space at ARTspot. A weekly place where people can come together and work on art projects.

  • Self-directed after hours club.

  • Bring your own art supplies or “rent” from ARTspot’s selection of materials. Or we got paper and pencils for free. Don’t let money stop you.

Our hope is to encourage people to not let themselves be cut off from their creative drive. “Talent,” if it exists, is subjective. Practice is a tangible way to master a craft and in doing so, express oneself.

We're excited to put this idea into practice and see how it develops. We're expecting it to grow and change to meet the needs of the community we hope will grow around it!

FAQ

how it works each week?

Participants may either bring their own materials to work on whatever project of theirs they like, use some provided paper and pencils for free to just hang out and make some art, or rent access to a selection of the store's supplies for the evening. The register will also remain open if anyone wants to purchase any specific materials to use.

Can one rsvp?

This is a very casual event that will operate on a first come, first served basis. That being said, we’re going to initially have a setup that should allow for at least 20 participants.

What does Renting Art supplies mean?

We’re asking a $5-$15 pay-what-you-can fee to “rent” or use ARTspot’s stash of art supplies for the evening. That “rent” is on a sliding scale or whatever participants can afford to hopefully encourage accessibility and equity for folks! You are also welcome to bring your own art supplies or we’ll provide pencils and paper for free. We don’t want money to be a barrier to anyone who wants to make art.

Am I too old?

The No Talent Club is open and available to anyone over the age of 15. Any participants ages 8-14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Is it a class?

Nope! Just a club. We’re not leading projects or providing instruction, just space to be creative. Though, when people get together, we tend to learn from each other :)
