Art Walk: Beth Henkes “Magical Mini Arts”
Get immersed in tiny whimsical artworks by local mixed-media artist Beth Henkes, also known as “Magical Mini Arts.” From panels to ornament-sized tags, Beth's artwork will surely surprise you with her creative imagination.
Beth Henkes is a former theatrical production stage manager turned business marketing and process expert and also owns The Idea Hound®, a consultancy focusing on process improvement and project completion in creative spaces. Magical Minis Art began in 2018 when she found herself in a small, colorless corporate workspace that inspired her to create tiny art for small spaces in an effort to liven up her surroundings.
A proponent of sustainable business and living, Beth creates only on wood or metal, using found or gifted objects as much as possible in her work. This philosophy not only keeps things out of landfills, it also results in one-of-a-kind art for the miniature enthusiast. She also produces commissions in many themes and enjoys the challenge of keeping each piece as sustainable as possible while also fulfilling the requests of her customers.
Beth's award-winning work has appeared in multiple juried gallery exhibitions in Washington State, her piece "Plague Year 2" took home the top prize in Small Artisan Works at Edmonds Arts Festival in 2023. She also accepted Third Place (2022) and Honorable Mention (2024) at Mountlake Terrace Friends of the Arts, both in the Miniatures category.
