Intersections call to artists
we are currently seeking applications from Artists affected by one or more aspects of Intersectionality to be shown at the gallery at graphite.
May 1 - July 16, 2022
at the new Gallery at graphite
Extended deadline April 9, 2022
This juried show seeks to feature artists who face CATEGORICAL DISCRIMINATION: Whose visibility and unique voices are integral to the art & culture of our communities.
Aspects of intersectionality:
race
religion
gender
ethnicity
religion
orientation
class/Economic Status
citizenship
And/or ability
These artists voices are often marginalized.
We seek to amplify them.
Eligibility
We encourage artists to honestly look at their personal experience with discernment. We trust our entrants to self-determine if they qualify as a person to help us build a relevant and informative collection for this show. The subject matter of artwork does not need to literally illustrate Intersectionality. Artists themselves should be those whose lives are affected by the aspects of intersectionality listed above, or related causes of discrimination. If you are considering entering, but feel you need some guidance, email us at intersectionsshow@gmail.com

A note on Erotic/Explicit Art: We understand that there is no well defined line between erotic and explicit art and everything else, and it comes down to a subjective decision. It is the goal of the jurors to offer a fair shot to any and all submissions, but it is not the aim of this particular show to showcase works that lean too far into this variety of artwork.
