Art Walk: Gabi Campanario

  • ARTspot Edmonds 408 Main Street Edmonds, WA 98020 USA (map)

Spotlight on local talent this month is the founder of Urban Sketchers, Gabriel Campanario who you may know as the “Seattle Sketcher’ columnist at the Seattle Times. We are holding a sketchers open-house tonight with treats and tables set up to sketch & chat. Check out some of Gabi's sketchbooks! We will also feature Gabi’s books on how-to sketch and art books by other artists from his Sketcher Press Publishing. Purchase tonight for an autographed copy!

Gabriel “Gabi” Campanario is best known for his storytelling sketches of the Seattle area —which appeared weekly in The Seattle Times between 2009 and 2021; and for his role as the founder of Urban Sketchers, a global organization of artists who aim to “show the world, one drawing at a time” through on-location sketching and reportage. He is the author of Seattle Sketcher: An Illustrated Journal, and The Art of Urban Sketching: Drawing On Location Around the World.
