For the past six years, artists have taken us up on our annual drawing challenge! We are so excited to launch something new for 2024!

Join Art Toolkit founder Maria Coryell-Martin to explore fundamental tools and techniques for creating colorful and expressive sketches.
Maria will share stories from her expeditions painting around the world while demonstrating how gesture, contour, and thumbnail sketches can quickly capture a sense of place. Art Toolkit supplies will be available to paint with, or you can bring your own sketchbook to follow along! We will share a variety of techniques for use in a wide range of media, including painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking, fiber to sculptural arts! Discover a range of acrylic surfaces that can be used for acrylic, water media, drawing media and collage. We will also cover layering techniques using stencils, image transfers, translucent glazes including the creation of encaustic-like effects. A class summary which includes images plus links to videos & additional resources will be provided to all registered artists afterwards.
Attendees (US Only) will have the opportunity to request free product samples (FYI shipped after the event).

A Day in the Life of an art supply store seeks to pull back the curtain on what it’s like to run a small art store in downtown edmonds and explore some amazing stories from the history of art supplies.
We keep blog entries concise at 500-600 words for a quick, two-minute read. Have you ever wondered why pencils look the way they do? What makes the colors we see all around us? Why Ziggy wears roller skates at work every day? The origin story of the Teeny Weenie Gallerini mounted on our storefront? Week by week, all shall be revealed!
